A Nashville Wedding at The Clementine: Belle Meade Charm at Its Finest
There is something special about a wedding day that unfolds in Belle Meade. The tree-lined streets, the historic estates, and the soft southern light all come together to create a backdrop that feels both timeless and effortlessly elegant. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a wedding at The Clementine, and it quickly became one of my favorite days behind the camera this year.
Why The Clementine Is a Nashville Favorite
Tucked into the heart of one of Nashville’s most storied neighborhoods, The Clementine offers a rare combination of romantic architecture, lush greenery, and warm natural light. Belle Meade itself is known for its grand estates and rolling landscapes, so it made the perfect setting for a couple who wanted their wedding day to feel elegant without being stuffy. From the moment I walked the grounds during our planning walkthrough, I knew this venue would give us endless opportunities for beautiful, editorial-style images.
Getting Ready in Soft Southern Light
The bridal suite at The Clementine is filled with oversized windows, which meant beautiful, diffused light for every getting-ready photo. I love capturing the quiet, candid moments before the ceremony, a mother helping fasten a necklace, laughter shared between bridesmaids, the groom taking a deep breath before seeing his bride for the first time. These in-between moments often become some of the most cherished images from the entire day.
Portraits Around Belle Meade
One of my favorite parts of the day was stepping just outside the venue into the surrounding Belle Meade area. The neighborhood’s mature trees, manicured lawns, and classic stone walls provided a gorgeous variety of backdrops for couple portraits and wedding party photos. We moved between dappled shade and warm golden light throughout the afternoon, which gave the gallery a rich, layered feel, from romantic close-up portraits to wide shots that show off the grandeur of the surroundings.
Tips for Couples Getting Married at The Clementine
If you are planning a wedding at this venue, here are a few things I recommend keeping in mind as your photographer.
Plan portraits during golden hour for the softest light around the Belle Meade grounds
Build in extra time to walk the grounds since there are multiple beautiful backdrops just steps apart
Talk with your photographer ahead of time about which corners of the property mean the most to you
Weddings at The Clementine always feel like a perfect blend of Southern elegance and genuine, heartfelt moments. If you’re getting married in the Belle Meade area and are looking for a photographer to capture it all, I would love to hear from you.
