Middle Tennessee Model Photographer | Test Shoots, Agency Portfolios & Editorial Sessions in Nashville, Franklin & Beyond

model photography is one of the most rewarding corners of my work, and i’m lucky to do it from a place that takes it seriously. i’m a middle tennessee model photographer based just outside nashville, and i specialize in agency test shoots, portfolio updates, digitals, and editorial sessions for new and working models across middle tn.

if you’ve signed with an agency — or you’re getting ready to — you already know how much your book matters. agencies and casting directors don’t meet you in person before they decide whether to call you in. they meet your photos. that’s why every test i shoot is built around one quiet question: what does this model need in her book to get hired? sometimes that means clean digitals against a 9-foot seamless. sometimes it means a beauty close-up that shows skin and structure. sometimes it means a moodier editorial setup with movement and edge. the answer changes with every model, and that’s exactly the point.

where i shoot in middle tn

i work all over middle tennessee, and the location is always built around the look we’re going for. nashville offers everything from clean studio walls to industrial alleys to the soft, painterly light of east nashville back porches. when models want city texture in their book — brick, concrete, neon — nashville delivers.

franklin is one of my favorite places to shoot when a model needs warmth, character, and a little southern softness. downtown franklin has those classic storefronts and historic facades that work beautifully for lifestyle and commercial-leaning frames, and smith park gives us trees, open green space, and golden hour light that makes everyone look like the best version of themselves. i’ve shot senior portraits, brand work, and full model portfolios in both spots.

beyond nashville and franklin, i regularly travel for sessions across middle tn — brentwood, leiper’s fork, columbia, spring hill, murfreesboro, hendersonville, and the smaller towns in between. middle tennessee has an underrated range of backdrops: rolling farmland, old stone, modern lofts, river light, hardwood forests. if you can describe the mood, there’s a corner of middle tn that fits it.

what a model session with me actually looks like

every shoot starts with a conversation. before you ever stand in front of my camera, we talk through what your agency needs, what’s missing in your current book, the markets you’re trying to break into, and the kinds of jobs you want to be booking a year from now. then we build the shoot list around that — wardrobe, locations, lighting, and pacing. nothing about a good test is accidental.

on the day, we usually start with digitals (sometimes called polaroids) so the agency has up-to-date, unretouched reference frames of exactly who you are right now. from there we move into the curated looks: agency basics, beauty, editorial, and any wildcard concepts we’ve planned. i shoot both natural light and strobe, indoor and outdoor, and i bring a portable studio kit so we’re never limited by what a location does or doesn’t offer.

after the shoot, you get a curated, retouched gallery you can actually use — frames sized for digital books, comp cards, instagram, and agency submissions. clean files, color-true, retouched the way an agent expects (skin retained, not airbrushed into someone else’s face).

who i work with

i shoot tests for newly signed models who need a first real book, working models who need a refresh between markets, agencies sending several of their roster through portfolio updates in one day, and creative teams — stylists, mua’s, and designers — who want collaborative editorial frames for their own books. if you’re a mother agent or scout based in nashville, franklin, or anywhere in middle tennessee and you’re looking for a photographer who understands the language of an agency book, i’d love to be on your shortlist.

i’m also happy to travel. i’ve shot for agencies in jackson, mississippi and across the southeast, and a road trip for a great test is always on the table.
